There are many numbers related to Scandinavia as you can guess from this title. This album has a story of fantasy with the motif of four Scandinavian countries and it starts with "Norwegian Wood". I am fascinated with his ad-lib performance especially. Niels Lan Doky is a powerful but sentient pianist. His performance is so impressive with originality. This album might be the best among his five albums and it seems like a travel sketch over four Scandinavian countries by music. As to sound quality, piano is natural and drums and bass are well controlled. Their balance makes comfortable resonance. |

Alex Riel(ds), Heine Hansen(p), Jesper Lundgaard(b) Recorded at Loft studio < Copenhagen February 200 3 and April 2004 I like drums and I wanted to listen to Alex's drums because he is called a famous drummer in Northern Europe. Cool sound of the first number "Yesterday" fascinated me. Alex Reel seems a drummer and percussionist. I was surprised at his various performance and it makes me happy. Hein Hansen made an excellent performance with clear tone though he is an unknown pianist in Japan. Alex Real Trio is a great trio with powerful bass. |

Of course, live concert is best, but it might be nice to listen to it with an excellent audio system. Drums, piano like clear stream and stable bass harmonize well and fade out in "Nature Boy" .Young promising pianist, Hansen composed "100 m Spurt","Without","3rd Dimension" which are lyrical and gorgeous. Lundgaard, who is a bassist, wrote "Dreaming Streaming" which is nostalgic music. I like "Idaho", too. "Giant Steps" by Coltrane is performed differently by their arrangement. Additionally, there are instruments recording of Eric Clapton's number with nice guitar performance |
