His audio experience might be almost same as Japanese audio history. A new column "My Audio History" is started this week and various kinds of audio products are introduced by comparing his experience with Hi-Fi Do's audio data. The first story is about JBL43. http://www.hifido.co.jp/merumaga/special/040924/indexe.html We told to Mr. Kondo at the meeting that we didn't have of JBL4345 in our stock, but to our surprise it had arrived at Nipponbashi shop soon after. JBL4345 is very rare item and we will make a listening report in the future. 2.CD Picks of the week - Piano & Trumpet The feature of "CD Picks of the week" is "Trumpet and Piano" . Ms. Cappuccino is off this week and the recommender for her is my friend whose nickname is "Trumpeter", because she played trumpet at brass band club in high school. Kondo recommends "Magic Hour" by young famous trumpeter "Winton Warsalis". My friend, "Trumpeter" recommends " Invention and Symphonia" by Bach in which Glemn Gould plays the piano. http://www.hifido.co.jp/merumaga/koncappu/040924/indexe.html Each CD will be presented for our readers. E-mail your name, address and CD title to apply CD present to the following address: are shown below: mailto:merumaga@hifido.co.jp Closing time of application : 21:00(JST) on September 30 Thursday Those who were chosen among applicants will receive CD without prior announcement. 3.Walking around Akihabara by Taro Akiba Last week I wrote about audio cables and my friend suggested to me that I should write about Power cable and plug outlet. According to my experience, there are wall- typed outlet in audio shops which cost tens of thousands of yen. Some people say that wall- typed outlet is more effective because of tight grip and others say it might be same outlet used in medical site. It is true that outlet for medical use is stable and it is harder to take out as compared with household outlet. I've got an idea to solder directly to the electric wire and tried it. However, I found that it did not make any difference. My friend came to check the sound but his opinion was same as I. He told me that he transformed 200V into 100V . I tried to listen to the music with 100V and I found some difference. However, I am not sure that it is efficient or not. I set the timer for my audio system and all audio products will be turned off automatically by timer. As I checked voltage of my house by tester it was 104V. I understand that all electricity is controlled by Tokyo Electric Power Co., Ltd. To be continued 4.Auction in Newsletter The following is the result of auction in last week: 1) World Audio - HIFI COMPONENTS SERIES-2 McIntosh (Separate volume of Stereo Sound) Number of bids :3 Winning bid :JPY 10,000 The auction items in this week are as follows: 1)Cartridge holder(Manufacturer unknown) It can hold three cartridges.
