25 days has passed since Hi-Fi Do Record shop opened.
We are still managing to make it a different type of record shop
from ordinary ones. A lot of back number of "Musentojikken" magazines
and open- reel tapes are available in our shop and it must be
an unique record shop to sell such items.
All items are now discounted 10% in opening sale.
Here, we would like to introduce Jazz record shop "MIMURA"
in our topic.
"MIMURA" is a very small shop but you can find your favorite records
and CD which you really obtain. You will be certainly satisfied with
a useful adivce by the shop manager.
Topics in this week:
1."Report on Jazz Shop "MIMURA"
2."Walking around Akihabara" by Taro Akiba

1."Report on Jazz Shop "MIMURA"
We posted a mail to ask information on our Newsletter to Message Borad
of Hi-Fi Do Jazz on the Web and we promised to give CD or LP of Jazz
if the information was adopted in our Newsletter.
Then, Mr. Cuppuccino provided us information and we asked him,
"What CD or LP would you like?" He said that he wanted CD "SWEET RAIN"
by STAN GETZ quartet that his favorite drammer, Grady Tate joined.
It was unfortunate that only records were available in Hi-Fi Do.
When we were talking about "SWEET RAIN" with Mr. Cuppuccino, he told
us about an interesting Jazz Shop "MIMURA" and he took us there in
Osaka. "MIMURA" was such a small shop filled by only 5 or 6 men.
The records were displayed in the right and CDs were in the left.
20 years' working exprience in a long-established record shop "WALTZ
DO" in Osaka led him to open Jazz Shop "MIMURA" on March 1, last year.
"MIMURA" offeres Message Board and many customers exchange their
information through it being supported by Mr. Mimura.
Mr. Cuppccino posted his message that he wanted to listen to "SWEET
RAIN" and Mr. Mimura prepared it for him. Mail order is available in
"MIMURA" for the customers who can not visit there.
Mr. Mimura has an attractive personality and customers enjoy shopping
and talking to him.
Business hour of "MIMURA" is from 11:00-20:00 and it is closed on
Sunday.
I had been sleeping for 2 hours. I got up and found the same CD played
agin and again. The sound of violin seemed like a lullaby.
The next day I went to Akihabara to buy a violin but I did not know
where I could get it. I went to HiFi-Do and asked a manger, Mr.Kawai,
"Where can I get a violin?" He said, " Only electric instruments might
be available around Akihabara. You may find more instruments shop in
Ocyanomizu."
Then, I decided to go to Ochanomizu. "Can you play the violin?" "No, I
can't.
I have never been to a violin concert. I want to play the violin by
myself because I know neither the real sound of violin nor sol-fa but
I just want to listen to the live sound of violin." He was surprised
to know the reason why I bougut it.
I went to Ocyanomizu after talking to him. I dropped in a instrument
shop and found the price of the cheapest one was just JPY 19,800 in a
set including resin.
It looked gorgeous with a case. I looked over others and found the
expensive ones costed hundreds of thousands yen. but I could not tell
the difference between cheap and expensive ones. So, I bought the
violin which price was JPY 19,800 and went home.
To be continued.
